  • Starbucks Offers Tuition Perks

Starbucks wants to send it's workers to school! The coffee chain announced a new benefit program this week, offering employees nationwide up to two years of free study in Arizona State University's online program. The initiative "touted as the first of it's kind", could allow many of Starbucks' 135,000 workers to earn credits at ASU without incurring debt and under no obligation to stay on with the company after graduation. Employees who work at least 20 Hours per week will receive full tuition reimbursement if they enroll as juniors or seniors, while other workers will be eligible for scholarships and financial aid if they enroll as freshmen or sophomores.
A Starbucks spokeswoman said the education benefits will extend to workers at the company's other outlets, including Teavana and Seattle's Best Coffee.
