  • My new trilliums...

They came without flowers blooming, just stems and leaves.
The pot of white ones lost their color, look dead. The red ones, 2 are just stems, one very green stem and leaf. The two in the air conditioned house look normal.

I was sad to see them not thrive... Then it hit me, they are early-spring bloomers, and we are entering summer here. Of course they'll go dormant! So I will keep the pots moist and see what happens in the spring.

Ellis is so disappointed, as he has such fond memories of the flowers from his childhood. He thinks they might not like Arizona (even though our zone is within its range.). We will see.

I had to "Google" Trilliums . . . not a flowering plant that i had heard of before.
I see that they are a 3- petal and 3 leaf-shape and they grow in a woodlands area from rhizomes. Quite pretty.
    Hope they survive for you.
Growing older is a privilege denied to many.
