Good morning Rounders! I have one Dianthus bloom. Yea! I pulled weeds, dug up baby trees, and cleaned out around the water housing box that is in the ground for the main water turn on. I have to keep that free in case they ever need to open it to shut the water on or off. It grows fast!

I found a baby Nandina bush coming up beside another one. So sweet! It must be coming from the roots. I pulled a bunch of weeds in the lawn. This is the best time to pull them out before they set seed.

The birds got a late start on the birdbath. When I took out the kitchen compost I noticed that the water was still clean so I ran more water into the birdbath so they could hear the water and when I came in they started getting in and bathing and drinking. Funny!

Today is my PM appt. My B/P is fine this morning and I will have a light bkfst later this morning.

It's the weekend! Peace & Plenty.

Good Morning fellow Rounders...for some reason ARM was on my mind pretty heavy this morning...anyone know how he is? Sitting here eating my oatmeal and having a cup of coffee....today is trash day so I got all ready for the hubby...cleaned out the fridge this week, checking on expiration dates and if we use things enough to keep them...how does a refrigerator get so full of bottles and such.

Happy Belated Birthday to Cookielady sounds like your life is full as usual, sure hope you can get things straight with Blaise, you surely don't need another Kathy on your hands...time to relax in life not as much stress...Love ya

That is all I have to say, I know unusual for my mouth, LOL...hope everyone has a great weekend, and that the weather is kind to you...take care.
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Morning...going to be an icky day starting with snow and sleet and changing to freezing rain before turning all over to heavy rain tonight. So it is cold, going to warm up a bit and then over the weekend temps will be into the teens. What crazy weather. Most schools are closed around us but not us. Guess that is ok since they have a noon dismissal anyway and I would rather use this snow day in May when we can use unused snow days toward getting out of school a few days earlier.

Already have a pot of chili simmering and hope to bake my cake later. I have been thinking about it all night! Not sure what today will bring but I will for sure not be going anywhere but to the bus stop and home. I truly hate and fear ice. My hands are hurting and my nose is running so this is a good day to stay in.

Karlinann every day is an adventure in your yard. Talked to my sister yesterday and she has ordered some plants for Spring. I have never had much luck with mail order plants but she does. She plans all winter on spring planting and you get to experience it all year round.

House is cold so need to see if the thermostat thinks I am home. Need to get Andrew's mom in to reprogram it again. She is our technical guru..plus she put it in when she lived here. Humm, that is a thought on why it keeps telling me I am not home...think?

Gonna start the day and wait for the weather to come in. Have a wonderful day.

Good Morning! We got about an inch of snow overnight, which was a surprise to me. Now I do know about the snow & sleet coming tomorrow...thanks Maxie!

Yesterday was a mixed bag. I did get both bedrooms straightened. Blaise's didn't last, especially since he was grounded off electronics. I stopped in to see my Mom after my appt at the school. We had a nice visit. One of her Christmas gifts was an assortment of audio books. Well here they all ended up being for MP3 downloading. Oops! So I bought her some more off of ebay and gave her those yesterday. We discussed her moving in with us. She said my brother who lives with her is being a bit more attentive. I guess when you live with someone you don't always notice changes. She's talking about next Christmas there, so apparently she's not planning on moving here as soon as Blaise leaves. Kind of looking forward to some time for just Cork & me.

Came home and puttered around. Made spaghetti & meatballs for dinner. Not that great. The salad was good though. Baked off most of the sugar cookie dough. Had to prod Blaise to do his Math homework. I ended the day watching some of my recorded shows.

This morning I have to run into town to see if I can find some baby shark items to decorate the birthday cake ordered for tomorrow. I'd like to find some BD plates & then cut out & laminate them. Then create a scene with them on the cake & around it. We'll see. I then need to ice the "pineapple" sugar cookies & make the cake. I'm going to my Aunt P's to play cards with her, my SIL, and my cousin Linda. We've been trying to make this happen for the past 3 Fridays. I'm taking veggies & dip. Not sure if Kathy is getting Blaise or not.

OH...I got my BD gift from my friend Maureen. She's always very very generous. When we were discussing the Orlando trip and possible things to do, I mentioned that I wanted to do the behind the scenes tour at Disney, but Becca couldn't afford it at this time. It's WAY MORE expensive than the admission price. Well Maureen sent a check to cover Becca & my admission for the tour. I'm SOOOOOO excited!!!!! She's just so kind!!!! I called Becca & told her. She's excited too! She was calling Maureen and thanking her too. I went out on Groupons last night & purchased a couple things for us to do.

Chili sounds so good. I may make a pot this weekend & cheesy potato soup. YES, that's what I'll take for cards Sunday evening.

Have a good one all & thanks for the birthday wishes!

Wow, Donna! Behind the scenes sounds like one of the dress up like a princess and have a party extras! I had no idea how much it cost. Wonderful
of Maureen to be so loving. Your friendship is a blessing to her, too, I am sure.

Nandina are very common here. Fast food drive through has them as does our church. They make a great hedge and grow well in our semi drought.
Semi being the operative word right now. No rain today but cloudy and cold.

My Fl brother is getting ready for a Disney Cruise and a run on their island. The MN brother texted me from Mall of America yesterday saying it was below zero outside!
So I am somewhere in between them and will not complain.

Maxi, I am afraid for anyone out on icy roads. A friend and his brother were killed when driving back from Oregon and hit black ice.
Sharon, I hate throwing out jars of not quite finished jam, sauce etc. I need to just do it. We go through spurts and never quite get to the bottom of any jar, except salsa! Like I said the other day: little jobs I used to be able to do easily during daycare are impossible now. Two biters and two climbers make life very strictly scheduled. But as they say, This, too, shall pass.

I am going to Sacramento tomorrow with Becky and a friend of ours.
i will probably have to post in the car but will check in.

Have a good day and think warm thoughts!

So, I got my injection in the knee and doc said to take it easy for the weekend. He told me some exercises to do for my knee and I'll start those on Monday. He does not recommend a brace for the knee.

We went out to eat after my appt. I had been almost fasting so that my B/P would be low, but it was still 21 pts higher on the systolic. Next time I go in 4 wks I'm eating because it's at 10:45, which is my lunch time. I guess their b/p machine will always read high. Whatever. When I took it this morning here at home it was 138/82 and at the clinic it was 159/84.

We finally went to the Ocean Buffet and it was so good. We both ate way too much, but that is the first buffet we have been to in many years. They have everything! Even desserts and one of them is like a Tiramisu. It was good.

I have to be low key this weekend. I'm so glad I got all that stuff done outside. He told me to take it easy when I go out to the garden and not to bend my knee so much. The exercises will strengthen my quads and help my knees. All it is is sitting on a chair and rising. Up and down for a count of 25, morning, noon, and night. Also, lift the leg straight up and press down for several seconds and hold it. Easy stuff and I bet it will help.

Hope the exercises work and you get some relief from the shot quickly. We do not have good buffets around here but Chinese. I miss the desserts at a real buffet! I do not call an ice cream machine a dessert bar! Rest up and relax.

A lot of people here go to the town south that has an I dian casino and buffet. I just have not gone, but you made me wish I had your buffet here, Karlinann!
Also, I don’t know why I never talked to Becky about those grinds? She was a manager at Starbucks in Sacramento. I finally brought it up yesterday and she said she knows all about it! Her store had a place in the lobby where they put the bags of grinds and people just came in and picked them up.
