Good morning Rounder's! The wound had healed nicely, all signs of infection and swelling are gone and I was so relieved. Doc removed 5 staples and will remove the other 5 next week. DH is on the lower dose of pain pill now and he is to walk more per hour. He was so worried about those staples coming out, but he didn't "ouch" too much. We did stop at the Olive Garden for our celebration dinner and I was thankful cuz I was completely wiped out around 5 pm. I guess all that work I did out in the yard and tugging that rolling walker in and out of the car got to me.

Gas prices are all over the place here, but our BP is $2.67 per gallon and I need to fill that tank soon. I may pick up my eye glasses today. They have been ready for 2 wks now, but I couldn't leave DH long enough to get them. Now he is able to do for himself and it won't take that long anyway.

My leg still hurts when I drive and I thought I might not be able to stop at the OG, but I stretched it out at a red light and we did it. They put us in a booth and we each had a leg stretched out on our seats and I told the waiter we were both disabled and had to sit that way and he said, "I always sit that way." He was fun.

I cooked me a pot of pinto beans yesterday and they are too hot. I put too much Cayenne and Pepper Flakes in them. DH cannot eat beans anyway, so I can have them all for myself. Beans and brown rice, that's nice!

Have a great day Rounder's. Peace & Plenty.

Good SUNNY Morning! It's suppose to almost hit 80 today...WOW! Let the windows open overnight.

Yesterday was super productive & I actually had the energy to do it all. I mixed up and baked off 3 kinds of grandma cookies (no icing). I mixed up and rolled out a bunch of pie dough. I cooked 4 fruit pie fillings and they are ready to go into the pie shells tomorrow. Started some laundry, but didn't follow thru with finishing it all. And I actually sat down and finished my book. Blaise was feeling pretty chipper by noontime, so he's going back to school today.

This morning I'm going to ice the restaurants carrot cake and get it & they ordered pies down to them first thing when they open. Think I'm going to bake the carrot cake that was ordered w/o nuts for an Easter order. I'll also then make the carrot cake cupcakes for the restaurant. I may also bake the other cupcakes they ordered. I'll ice them all either tomorrow or Saturday. I need to run in town and get some candy to fill the eggs and a couple other things. Blaise is now going to be here Easter morning, so I need to get stuff for his basket. I wasn't going to do a basket if the Easter Bunny was going to Kathy's. I don't like Easter being turned into a 2nd Christmas. Oh...I have to remember to make Chris' egg custard pie today for Cork to take over to him for helping fix the tractor. I've never made an egg custard pie, but I picked a 5 star recipe, and will go for it.

My customer called yesterday after picking up 2 loaves of Paska bread that she ordered. I've never tasted it and was hoping it was OK. She said she cut into one loaf and it was perfect. Whew! She said the recipe was a keeper and she'll be ordering it again. Good to know! Bread isn't my specialty, but if someone wants me to make something, I'm game if they are too.

While doing my thing yesterday, we heard a load helicopter. Here it landed in the field area right behind our house. It was life flight. Apparently there was an accident about a half mile down the main road that runs in front of our house. Then down the main road the other direction, there was also another serious accident. Saxonburg VFD was busy. Thank God there are people willing to do that. I try to support them monetarily when I can. Both accidents occurred at intersections in straightaways. People are just in too big of hurries.

KA...glad for the good news. Now take it easy yourself. JoG...so glad to hear your news too, and super glad your daughter(s) are going to be there for you both. It's important. Your son is going to be sorry some day...maybe. Maxie...love hearing your stories. Bethina….keep up the good work. Glad to hear your chef backs you. Just don't lose your cool.

Have a good one all! Plan to pop in and see Aunt J & Uncle D today.

I am here but not well...My cat hate storms and I do too..Cori had me up most of the night. The lightening from the storm lit up the entire room. Cori just meowed and cried and ran around the room. She cleared a book shelf. When I woke at first I wasn’t sure what I was seeing!!! My head hurts bad enough to make me want to cry and consider staying home. I will go to Atleast get my station set up then see how I feel and how my day is going. If I still feel horrible I will come home and sleep.

good morning from my house! The sky is light and we are going up to 80 today, too.
I watered the back half of the yard that the kids do not play in. My lilac is so pretty right ow, I sat outside with the cat and just breathed in the sweet scent!

Donna, I keep saying I am going to make cupcakes from my carrot cake recipe...and freeze them unfrosted until I want one.

today is the last work day this week for me. I have started taking off Good Friday to have a 3 day weekend to prepare for Sunday and also to use to make medical appointments. I have one with the dermatologist tomorrow morning and seriously hoping to get a Kenalog shot for my allergies. Becky's doctor said you can have three a year spread out and this is a bad year for them.

We have a barbecue with friends on Saturday as well as the Parade in the morning. round Up week. It is always the third weekend inApril so it is on the same Sunday as Easter this year. Our church is close to the fairgrounds where it is held and we often have guys in their dress up jeans and Team Wrangler shirts for church for the morning service and for the later service we would hear the announcer if the weather is nice and windows are open!

I am making Mickey Mouse waffles this morning and need to et a move on. I have the waffle maker and it makes one at a time, but they are big enough no one eats more than one.

Sorry we missed your post, Maye, but happy to hear David is improving. And happy to hear the good news from your house, Karlinann.
My big yard work will be pulling or cutting out the rest of the oleander form the neighbor's yard. the kids actually were pulling leaves off whatever they could from it! I made them come in and scrub their hands; told them the bug spray was poison and we could not play in that yard (all grass and fenced off from bikes and sand toys) until it is gone. I have never had anyone pull leaves or flowers but yesterday that just seemed like a good thing to the 4&5 year old!

Have a wonderful day! Hope the sun shines on all of us!

I once had a huge lilac that set outside a triple dining room window. Back in the days when we opened windows I could smell the lilac through that window. Heaven! I have a lilac scent in the car and when we were on our last girls shopping trip my sister and our other sister both bought lilac car scent from Bath and Body. When these Christmas smellies are gone I am putting lilac in the house. My sister took starts from my mom's purple and my grandmas' white and she has planted them around one of her porches with the scent in mind. Those bushes has traveled with her from each of her homes. I wish they had a longer blooming season...enjoy!

Beth take care of yourself! That storm must have been a dandy! Came right over the river from you to us. I did not hear it but Sierra woke me up crawling into my bed. She also said her entire room was lite up and then I heard the thunder after she woke me. Heard Jon up shortly after she woke me so it woke him too. Going to cool down a bit but we are suppose to have a beautiful Easter. If a storm wakes me I normally roll over and go back to sleep but when she crawled in with me it got hot! And she thinks she is ready to move on her own. Could be interesting...but I remember being afraid of storms until you realize there is nothing you can do so get over it. My husband worked shift work for years so you have to get over a lot of things. I also learned to kill a bug...funny thing is I learned he didn;t want to smash a bug anymore than I did.

Karlinann good news on your husbands progress. He is on the way to recovery now and it will go quickly. Just take care of yourself along the way. They leave stitches and staples in a lot longer now and I think there is a 'small' ouch involved in the removal. I love Olive Garden!

Jo, wonderful news that you will have your daughter with you for all the upcoming surgery. Gives you a chance to take better care of yourself. So very happy for you!

No Andrew until Tuesday. He came in early yesterday and said he didn't feel good. I ask how his evening with grandpa went and he said he wanted to go back today but mom said he had to come say hello to me. That was her way of him coming here and I told him his dad would take him to grandpas and he said his mom said so too...so I knew what she was doing. She doesn't want him changing buses like that and I agree. He did look a little under the weather so I did not push supper on him. I had it ready because Sierra had night class and had to leave but he sat down and ate a huge plate of spaghetti. What happened to that spaghetti later was grandpa's problem...ya know? I have his Easter here so guess Jon will take it to him. I would have given it to him last night but things get hectic around here with everyone running around like they all have someplace to go. Only place I went was to bed.

Blues play tonight but I do not have a game time. These are now to be announced games. I hate that. Think the Cardinals have an off day. It is a rainy morning and I never did get to the nursery. Was going to stop when I was back home but they were to crowded...weather lady said I could plant my tomatoes now so I have to buy some. Thinking I am going to put petunias in the patio pots. Last year the geraniums baked and I had a couple of Martha Washington's that looked horrible for the price I paid after a month. Got leggy... Maybe I'll plant them red white and blue petunias? Stick a flag in them! I dunno..need to see what is out there. It just gets to darn hot on that concrete.

Laundry again and need to load the dishwasher. Have a wonderful day everyone...

Good morning, all you busy people.
Things are a bit busy here, too....but different from yours.

E got a hotel room for us for Sunday, and Monday when he is in the hospital our DD will be staying with me. Our niece will likely be popping in at the hospital, as she was a cardio nurse before she had to stop working. Who else will be able to be there, and when, we will see. DD who is staying with me has to go back for 2-3 days in the middle of this to work. (That’s where niece should be popping in for me.)
we are keeping the hotel room for a week after his discharge, to be sure he relaxes and won’t have to face the home clean-out right away. A vacation, I guess.

the DD with the bad and painful leg we had to talk her out of coming, as past experience proved she would “need” far more attention than E or even me. I’m trying to ignore my own health issues, as they’ve taken a serious turn, though I’m following medical instructions.
a stepdaughter said she is coming, but we had to remind her of her condition, she has a serious back problem, plus she is an alcoholic, so she took our advice and finish her therapies.

plus, I’ve packing to do as well. E’s suitcase will be smaller. He wants to stock up on foods to take, as there isn’t a restaurant in a convenient walking distance. And despite the infusion, my back pain and a bit of breathing trouble manage to pop up once my heart rate increases.

finishing the last load of laundry today.
It will be a beautiful day in the 80’s. The weekend will reach the 90’s.
i think I will take a couple of muumuu ‘s for comfort.

          have a great day! ☀️

Jo this has to be a strain on you and your health problems so take care of yourself. Accept as much help as you feel confident in and let others do the running around for you. Use carryout and delivery for your meals. So grateful your children are stepping up to help.

It sounds as if you've got a good plan. Take care of yourself and may God be with you both. Yes, order delivery.

Yes, it is being a strain right now.
Hospital called at 8:20 a.m. to do surgery today. Then called again for tomorrow. 6 calls later we got the head honcho there, and E explained he needs to leave it at Monday. He has plans to get me situated, plans on who is driving us where and when, and everything arranged at everyone’s convenience for the Monday schedule. He won’t be doing much over the weekend. All these calls from all the medical team are enough to cause a heart attack. So they are finally agreed on the original schedule.
Then DD with the bad leg tried to wiggle into our schedule again, with her friend, to her convenience, so E gave her info on who is already in place, and we won’t be home for her and her friend to “help” us, on her schedule..... this DD demands all the attention no matter what. We told her she can come, but she needs to make arrangements ahead of time for her own needs. (She is supposed to be seeing a pain specialist from St Jude’s.). You have no idea!!!
The stepDD sounded relieved that she wasn’t obligated to come.
What we will need most, is peace and quiet, and no complications to the basic plan. We don’t need the Keystone Kops, that’s for sure. We know our kids’ quirks.

We will check and see which restaurants will deliver, but we will take some groceries as well. Pizza is delish, but not an every night thing. But the daughter staying with me will gladly help get the food while she is with us.

Would you believe I just burned the hummingbird food I was making, and that burnt sugar won’t come off the pot, nor will the plastic from the stirring spoon that melted on the pot. My mind is elsewhere. I slept only 4 hours last night. Don’t know what kept me awake. :/
