Good morning Rounders! DH and I watched Naked & Afraid where they were in the Bahamas on a deserted island in sharp infested waters. It was so scary. There were 5 people and they made it to the extraction point safely, but I was gripping the edge of my seat all the way.

Today is my day of rest and I'll do just that. Just have to make dinner, but that's easy.

I've been awake since 12:30. Crazy! I did have nightmares, but it was not about the sharks.

Not much happening here so I'll be back much later today to read up. Peace & Plenty.

    Good morning.
We will have the mid-70’s for a couple of days, but that is still better than it was before.

Ellis thinks I need a blood infusion because I’ve been so tired, I have to rest after any chore. The other day I had trouble walking through Costco, and later a drug store pharmacist stopped me, said I looked too pale, had me sit by the counter to wait for hubby to get what he needed there. We will find out tomorrow when I go to my appointment. In 2 weeks I see my cancer doctor, too.

Nothing new new going on. I have 5 bins to go through today, most of which probably end up in Goodwill. So there’s not much left to say.

I will just wish you all a great day. ☀️
    Have a good Sunday.

      Good morning all.

Well "ma Nature" decided we needed more snow. Suppose to get 2-3 inches today before it stops this afternoon.

Think I'll stay out of the wet cold today, and skip Church. Will watch what the "nay-sayers" will talk about on Face the Nation this morning.

I can just hear Maxie steaming because our snow is coming from her direction. Maxie, maybe we both should "spout" off at the same time so "ma Nature" will hear us when we say we're tired of this winter crap.

      Everyone have a good day.

      THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD

A Sunday School teacher decided to have her young class memorize one of the most quoted passages in the Bible - Psalm 23. She gave the youngsters a month to learn the chapter.
Little Rick was excited about the task - but he just couldn't remember the Psalm. After much practice, he could barely get past the first line.
On the day that the kids were scheduled to recite Psalm 23 in front of the congregation, Ricky was so nervous. When it was his turn, he stepped up to the microphone and said proudly, 'The Lord is my Shepherd, and that's all I need to know.'
Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

She doesn't listen to me! I have hung spring wreaths on the door and ordered summer clothes. We grilled the other night and I am watching baseball on tv. You are right...screaming and steaming is all I have left so maybe if we do it together? Ya think?

Good morning...snowing but they have lowered the totals to only about 4 inches. Big story are the falling temps with winds chill at night below zero for the next couple of days. Yesterday I showered and put on my fuzzy sleep pants and a sweatshirt and watched the Cardinals play in Jupiter Florida...looked warm with everyone in shirt sleeves! Anyway, Cards won but the Blues lost. That is now 2 in a row they have lost and don't play again until Wednesday.

Today Jon wants to go to the mall. If lunch is included I can venture out into the snow. I have no shopping to do so will just go smell at bath and body and maybe look at shoes. Last night he had to run to walmart since the meal sealer stopped sucking air and it was a zoo with riots in the aisles. They had lines backed up through the store and closed a couple of lanes. He said if he didn't live with me he would have been shocked at the language those little old ladies use. He cracked me up and we had a good laugh.

Jo I do not understand why it takes you so long to get into a doctor when you are not well. Why does it takes weeks to get an appointment? You and E both appear to need to see a doctor much quicker than you are. Just want you two to take care of yourselves and get the attention you need.

i have seen Naked and Afraid. Can you imagine the places those people could get weed rashes and bug bites? And then have to look for their own food and make clothes out of weeds? No thanks! Jo, I also need to purge some clothes. But why is it you throw it out because you don;t wear it then suddenly tear everything apart looking for it because there is no way you would have thrown that out? I can throw most anything out but clothes are the hardest.

Have a quiet restful Sunday. I have a pile of laundry and ironing. Always something....

Good Morning! Snow is suppose to be coming. It started out we were to get a total of 2-6", but now it's down to 1-3".

Yesterday was good for the most part. Once I got my rear in gear yesterday morning, I went into town to go to the bank & pick up a few groceries. Since Cork has been working 6 days a week, I've been doing his WM shopping for his cereals, water, & other drinks. Didn't get much else accomplished. Met Kathy part way to pick up Blaise from her. Actually cooked a semi decent dinner for us. Asparagus is starting to go on sale....YUM!

The big "excitement" didn't start until 1030. Blaise came out & said he thought someone had an accident out front. Now our house is set back in the corner of 3 acres, so we don't usually hear stuff. I looked out & it just looked like someone was pulled off the side of the road. No big deal. I eventually hollered to see if they needed help, and I was told no. Pretty soon we heard them calling a dogs name. We went back out on the porch and checked it out. It was an accident. Went in, got my shoes & coat & a couple flashlights, and went out to the road. The other car that stopped called 911 and when I was walking up he ask if blood made me sick...lots of it. I can deal with it as long as it's not mine or my kids'. Here the girl had just bought the car yesterday. The hood of her car flew up, she couldn't see where she was going, and drove off the road into one of our trees. When they got out of the car, apparently her dog jumped out too. Never did find the dog & there were plenty of people searching for it. I took car of the guy until the ambulance came. Something I always wondered when watching shows about "What Would You Do?". The guy had a head gash that was bleeding a ton and he was only in a tee shirt. I gave him my coat w/o thinking about it. It was freezing cold, and I could tell he was going to pass out. The last rescue vehicle didn't leave until 12:30 once the car was towed out of our yard. I'm sure it didn't help their cause that they had been drinking, but I'm sure if that would have happened to most people (hood flying up) while going 55 mph, they would have wrecked too. I sure hope their Penny girl showed up.

This morning was church & SS. Just doing laundry. Don't know what the rest of the day will bring. We already canceled playing cards because of the snow "storm" we were suppose to get. I'll just rest & relax.

          Have a good one all!

Good for you..I admire people who can just step up and do what needs to be done! I am not big on blood, mine or yours, but Jon and Sierra can handle it. My husband was a medic so guess the kids got their stomachs from him. Hope you got your coat back or do you even want it? Sierra's aunt knows everyone in the area and was able to track down through the medics and fire department the people who stopped to help her that morning. We felt it very important to let that couple know how much her family appreciated what they had done to help her. I know the people you helped were equally grateful. Good job!!

Maxi, our hospital used to be part of the UofA Campus. The College ran it, and things went nicer back then. Well, the labs not only serviced the hospital doctors, but also medical research. Eventually something had to give. So the hospital facility was sold to a hospital group, and it’s now run more like a business than before. It is not as efficient as before.
I am pretty sure that we will not be going to it’s sister hospital in Phx after we have moved.
E knows where his pain comes from. He has to be extra careful while we are waiting. He did get his appointment moved up to this month. The paramedics that took him in the first time told him a few ways to keep it under control when it hits. It has been working well this time. Fortunately he can understand “doctor speak”, so he knows what they won’t tell us in plain English.

Lately the bigger hospitals (VA, and other highly rated hospitals), have hired away many of our best doctors for more money. Of course, they won’t turn down the Big Money. So most of our doctors are NP’s, and mine is one of the really good ones, Our PCP, also an NP, has been taking her work home, and emails E to follow up on how he is doing, adding advice and getting his responses. We are lucky, very lucky, so far. My NP for oncology is close by only on Mondays, and at another hospital the rest of the week.

I had just always assumed the larger the city the better the medical accessibility was. I am beginning to appreciate my small town hospital and doctors. If I need a specialist they make the appointment for me and all I have to do is show up. I am glad you are both well educated in your ailments and know how to handle them. I'm not being critical just thinking of you and the health issues you both have.

I read all of your posts.
i am no good at blood but thankfully my first aid always kicks to bind up some gushing bad wound or do a Heimlich when needed.
after I got home from church I got some kind of stomach upset that has me seriously swearing off chicken enchiladas.
it rained whiled we were in church but none since. The sun is out and that makes up for enchiladas!

i hope you are all ok.
more tomorrow when I have the big screen and not my phone.

Maxi, these days in the big cities, patients need to keep track of much of their medical progress. We have On-Line communication with the hospitals/clinics/doctors. I forget a lot these days, but Ellis remembers more detail than I do, so he is always with me to dole out the info. I’ve told the doctors much of what I went through was when I was unconscious (in surgery) or groggy (consider the hourly techs poking at you or whatever they need to do) lack of sleep, dealing with every new nurse that comes on duty, other specialists coming in for a look-see at this case (you are not a person if you’re not their actual patient) in case they ever have a need to know. Later I recall a bustle of people going in and out, but in a light fog, because I am generally on IVs instead of food for 7-10 days. Talking with doctors after being discharged helps, but I usually can’t answer questions about hospitalizations.
I can tell you I’ve gone from my bone marrow putting out far too many cells of all kinds, but now it has become a Fibrosis issue. No chance of a cure. But the new medication has it under control most of the time.

And its its probably why E can’t get in any sooner for his heart SVT....he has it under control, so it’s not considered “urgent”.

Even if we walked into an ER, we have to wait hours to be seen, and more time waiting in the ER exam room for a doctor who treats your particular problem....and it could be 5 minutes for a blood draw, while they let you sleep there til they get back with you....maybe in the morning. Unless they spot something severe enough to be life threatening.

Example: when I first got sick with this, I began to throw up blood, more than capfuls. We went too ER, I filled out papers, could only speak softly to say “I’m throwing up blood”. I was left to wait a few hours. Careful breathing and relaxation kept me from losing more blood. They finally called me, asked again my problem, I replied as before. He laughed, and said “a few drops? A teaspoon?” Yuk yuk. I said, “Give me a barf pan.” He said Huh? E explained what I needed. I immediately fillit it tomthe top. “My god, woman, why didn’t you SAY you were throwing up blood?” He slapped me into a wheelchair and pushed me back into ER exams. Sat me on a table, but I passed out and fell onto the floor. I don’t remember it, but E came in and saw how grey all the interns and nurses were, and immediately was ushered out. I had a slew of doctors, specialists, etc., around me. I got through that and some very special surgery.

The fastest way to see a doctor here, therefore, is to not have that control. But it may turn into something more severe if we don’t, and that is something I am very afraid of. You know?
So I have learned the general game, I will use the best tactics I can when I know things are getting severe.
E just learned he can actually communicate with our PCP. Maybe she can help somehow when he says it’s got more serious. I can probably call my NP for the same thing, but it’s the receptionists and nurses who don’t know me who might interfere. She’s only in the Cancer Center the one day a week, but E would take me to the north edge of town if he had to.

That reminds me, one day soon we need to request copies of our medical records.
