Good morning Rounders. I either have a sore sinus or the hygienist did something to my sinus because it is very painful. I noticed it last night around 10 pm. I took an Advil last night and it does feel somewhat better.

I got the ceiling in the shower painted yesterday after lunch, and I also got the wall outside the shower painted where they patched around the door into the shower. Huh? Good thing I had an assortment of the sponge brushes cuz there was no way a brush would have fit into those areas around the door facing. Easy clean-up too, you just throw them away. The ceiling was difficult for me becuz I had to stand on the bottom step of a step stool and it was not enough under my feet, plus I had vertigo from holding my head back to look up. Hey, that could be why my sinus is hurting. You think? Anyway, I got the painting done and it looks fabulous.

Did you catch the new show last night on NBC network, The Enemy Within? It's good, and before you know it they'll be putting it on Showtime. Yeah, I think it's that good.

I'm loving the cool down. It was nice to be outside for awhile and I watered my seedbed so they will come up faster. No, Maxie, none of my seeds are sprouted yet. I just sowed the seeds a week ago and it takes 7 to 10 days to sprout. That rain the weather forecast for us may or may not happen, so I'll have to water EOD due to these winds.

DH got a call from that imaging place where he had the MRI done and they told him the disk is ready to be picked up and we will stop and get it on March 12 before we go to his doc appt. They also told him it shows a tear on the Achilles, but that is all they could tell him. The doctor has to look at the disk and tell him the rest of the story. It sounds as if the surgery will be sooner than later. DH is so worried about it, but I'd be on pins and needles too. Bless!

I only had French Onion soup for dinner and I'm powerful hungry this morning so it's time to get in the kitchen and rustle up some grub. You girls have a great day. Peace & Plenty.

      Good morning. (I think.)
i got up way too early with a stomach upset again. I knew I wouldn’t get back to sleep, and didn’t want to wake E with my ups and downs. So I made myself some Mocha ☕️, and might have oatmeal later.

today should be nice, mostly warm and sunny. The good thing is that we reach the mid-70’s today. However nights are in the 40’s and will take time to overcome that coolness. But I will bask in the warmth later today. In a few days the nights will be up to the 50’s and days will be in the higher 70’s. So we are getting there. I won’t complain.

E finally got a real person on the phone in cardiology. He told her he gets the SVT attacks a couple times a day and would like either an ablution or treatment for it. He has already done the tests, pictures, and monitoring, and it’s shouldn’t be such a long wait for necessary treatment. The best she could do is give him a date 2-1/2 weeks from now. Mid-March. (Which is better than 2-1/2 more months of waiting.).

Today E & I will be going through more bins in the garage, and decide what to do with the contents. Much of it, I’m sure, is bedding. Much of that will likely be donated. He has been talking about finding softer sheets. I’m not sure which brands to look for. And is it Egyptian or Pima cotton that softens with each wash? It’s getting harder to find nice sheets in Twin X-L, but we can push the beds together and King size with “deep pockets” are perfect. We got the Twin beds when I first got sick, and I needed the lift feature....it also has a massage unit on it.

Meanwhile, it will be a busy day ahead, and I will probably need to sneak in a nap. I doubt I had even 5 hrs sleep last night.

Karlinann, where did that energy come from? I could sure use some.
Beth, I’m glad you are feeling better today.

To all, have a great day. ☀️

Read what you wrote last night...interesting. Your stamina for life is amazing.

I find it hard to believe that someone with a heart condition cannot get the prompt attention they need or the answers they are entitled to.

That energy comes from a drug called Advil. That's how I roll! LOL!

I read your late night post as well. Girl, you went through a bunch of stuff. I'm glad E stood up for you. Personally I couldn't wait to leave home, get a job, and live in a city.

Good Morning! The wind has finally calmed down. Many w/o power around here I heard. Thank the Lord we didn't lose ours. Unfortunately the states surrounding us also lost power due to all the wind, so our guys don't have anyone extra coming in to help make the repairs.

Yesterday was very productive and I felt totally human. I got some cleaning done, made 6 PB cream pies for the freezer, and even a little bit of laundry. My big excitement of the day was getting the bird out of our wood burner. It had got caught in the chimney during all the wind Sunday night. We don't use the WB. It finally got down into the grate area. I tried to catch it a few times, but it would fly back up every time. So I got smart & left the doors open a few inches, It finally flew out. I opened the front door and it flew out. So proud of myself that I didn't freak out. I guess I've watched enough nature shows to know it was more afraid of me than I was of it.

Actually cooked a decent dinner last night. Since karate was late, we all got to eat together.

This morning I've got my early exam with the Gynecologist. Afterwards, I'm stopping at my Mom's. We did have plans to go into town to shop & have lunch, but last night she wasn't sure if she'd be up to it. I teased her that she was beginning to sound like my Grandma (her Mom). In a whinny voice I said, "You just don't know how bad I feel." She laughed and said to stop by afterwards & if she was dressed, she'd go with me. We don't shop much. Go to Boscov's, lunch, then home. Doesn't take us long to shop & drop.

      Have a good one all!

Good morning! Beth glad you woke up headache free....you sent it to me! I know it is sinus related because my ears are clogged and my eyes hurt. Hope it is just cold related.

Jon saw the doctor yesterday and is now off work for a week. His cough is so bad he pulled muscles. Scott then texted and he was in Urgent Care with flu symptoms. The test showed he does not have the actual flu but a flu like disease. Looks like we waited until the very end of flu season to all catch something around here. Going to warm into the 50s today then get cold again tomorrow with wintery weather the rest of the week. Weather guy said we will have winter until the middle of March according to his predictors. Then they are predicting heavy flooding this Spring. Well, I could have figured that out too....heavy snow up North means lots of flooding along the Mississippi River heading South. Duh!

Heading to the grocery store this morning. I love lasagna and make the world's worst but I have a huge taste for it. Soooo...going to give it another try. I do not know how you can mess up lasagna like I have for all these years. I dug out my sister's recipe and made a store list. She makes wonderful lasagna but then she is a wonderful cook. Both my brothers are good cooks. You know, I think I just don't care enough to be a good cook and had a husband who never demanded gourmet meals. He was just happy to see food on the table. But I gotta tell you that guy was not above getting on the phone and asking my DAD to cook for him. 'We haven;t had chili in a while or isn;t it time for a pot of beans and corn bread?' Well, anyway tomorrow is lasagna day. Today is probably pancakes.

Nothing going on around here but a bunch of sick and sore people. Blues play tonight and the Cardinals had preseason games on over the weekend. Andrew is not playing baseball this summer but brought home a football sign up. Hope his mother poo poos that! Plus it is incredibly expensive. I was shocked! Jon only played one summer training season and one day came in with a handful of money saying he sold his cleats in the locker room and quit. And sometimes they show good sense!

Have a good day back at work Beth...Karlinann, March 12 seems so far away but hope your hubby is getting around ok. Watch you don't hurt yourself doing everything. Have a wonderful day people.

Thank heaven it is a power on day here! We lost power for about three ours yesterday afternoon and the kids were ok with it. I had enough hot water to warm up the baby's breast milk and that was my biggest concern. I usually heat water in the microwave and then put the frozen packets in the hot water to warm (you can't microwave the milk). I had a blanket around the baby and around 4:30 with only three lift the power came back on. these high winds are bringing down trees al over and one had taken a power line with it in our area. Walmart lost their power and was escorting people out. I can't imagine the work the staff had to do to return all the items that people had in their carts.
We are all so ready for better weather. We have today and tomorrow with these winds.

And in the midst of al this I am pretty sure my food visit will come. So I have to be ready with all the food categories required even if the kids won't eat or drink (1% milk) them. The do not like it when I put it on their cereal...

No word about my taxes, yet, either so there is that hanging over my head.

Jo, I read your post from last night. You sound like a remarkable woman who has mastered her life! Too bad there isn't more recognition for the great work mothers do!

the homeless shelter will be open all day today. Usually the guests leave by 8:00am and it opens to them again at 5:00pm. In this kind of weather they let the guests stay out of the rain and wind and let them stay in. Becky volunteered to be there from 8:00 to 4:00 today . She was sayingthey are all out of socks that are donated to people and I had been given some money for helping with the shelter so Becky is going to Walmart this morning and buying socks. At Christmas time that is one of the items the shelter asks for and people donate. With the fires we have had there have ben so many opportunities to donate that the shelter got less than they normally receive.

We have a short range of temperatures today: 48-55 with winds foing crazy. I hope the winds die down where you are, Donna. The temps there are awful to be without power.
A friend was telling me about some things you can make for heat in an emergency power outage, but I would have to try it out first. So many of those great ideas people post do not actually give the result they promise. And there are no open flames in daycare!

I better let you all go. Beth, I am so glad you woke up better!
Karlinann, I am really amazed at all your abilities! I have painted only one straight wall. What I need to do is clean the ceiling over my stove area. That is the big Spring cleaning job I am waiting for good weather to do.

the hamburger soup I made yesterday morning was perfect after daycare when the power came back on. I am going to scramble some eggs now and have something ready just in case!

Donna, my hat is always off to you! Bless you for all your efforts and for doing it so willingly!

          Have a wonderful day!

I learned a new exercise for the Sciatic Nerve Pain. You suck in your tummy as if you are sucking your belly button to your spine and hold it for a count of five at first, then gradually increase to a count of 10. You need to hold your breath while doing this exercise. It really works. I'm doing better since I started these exercises. I also learned that water aerobics is good and so is massage, but I cannot afford the massage. Anyway, this is a good exercise and between this and the Pigeon Pose I'm doing way better. There is hope.

Thank you Paula. Life is a challenge, isn’t it. You.....we all......are pretty good at dealing with it by now. Some times are more difficult than others, but much of it becomes run-of-the-mill, I think.

Maxie, you are so funny.....dozing off while writing? Wish I could. But once I get up, it is like TA DAAAAA Hello World! But not my choice. I need another mocha.

For those of you freezing and waiting for flooding in the Midwest........did you see the news about the “tsunami ice”? If not, google it! Lake Erie had frozen and with the extremely high winds, snowy ice blocks were being pushed up on shore. There’s a movie clip on it, too. Some people evacuated their homes in case it reached their homes.....I think it stopped just short of their property. There were warnings of power outages and trees snapping or falling. I haven’t seen any follow up news yet. My brother in MI said it was extremely cold and windy, and fortunately they weren’t near the Great Lakes. Anyway, that’s why the extra flooding is going to happen, all that ice having been pushed ashore!

Cookie, always the busy lady. Sick or not. I hope all the colds and stuff pass quickly.

I'm backkkkkkkk. My Mom petered out on me & didn't go. I got my grocery shopping done, and then picked up Arby's. Took it back to my Mom's and we had lunch together. I had to pick up a Rx at the drug store there in town. She LOVES colored peppers, and Aldi's had them on sale, so I picked her up a pkg of them and a package of Butterfinger bars.

Went to Sharp Shopper. They've been open a year now. It's so nice to go in & see the same cashiers every time. They know me & I know them. I had 3 wave to me on my way out. It's the little things that make my day.

Karlinann, that exercise is recommended for many things. The PT said to first exhale, then suck in your belly so it feels like your bellybutton is trying to touch your spine. Hold it in a few seconds at first, working up to 5-10 seconds if you can. Repeat that cycle 10 times.
It strengthens your tummy muscles to reduce your tummy size, too. And practice it daily. It is actually an Isometric Exercize.

Cookie, we seldom have the same stores across the Mississippi that you have. However, my DD says her daughter shops at a Smart Shopper somewhere in Phoenix. Sometimes DD gets their gift card for one of her girls, so that the girl’s SO (or SOB) won’t steal the checks I used to send. My DD knows what her girl needs most, and buys and wraps the gifts with the check I now send for her. Apparently, the Smart Shopper store is the best place to buy groceries pretty cheaply.
