Good morning peeps. I guess DH really hurt his foot. He was the patient yesterday and I catered to his every need. He had a rough time walking and I didn't allow him to stand for very long. He may have to get an Xray of that foot today. I know he was in a lot of pain and ended up having to take a pain pill at bedtime. I will need to drive if he does have to go out. My leg has not been hurting with the Sciatic pain for a few days and I'll probably be fine. The talk I had with him yesterday is that if he does really injure himself playing Pickleball, such as breaking a bone, how will we manage. I think he had not given that much thought. He has come home battered and bruised before and just seems to accept the fact that the game can be brutal. Personally I don't understand why someone would subject themselves to that kind of punishment.

Okay, enough of that. Yesterday was gorgeous and I got out there for a brief period. I worked on the stump, chipping away at the roots. They are huge roots and it will take a long time to get rid of them. I watched one of the Haley Dean mysteries on the Hallmark Channel and it was one I hadn't seen and was quite interesting. DH watched it also.

I've written a book. Have a great day!

DH did not hurt his foot playing PB, but it was stepping off a curb at Publix when he went to get my Rx. Just wanted to clarify and correct that mistake. He has had Achilles problems before, so I got him an appt. with his Foot Specialist this morning and we will get that nipped in the bud.

And of course, I forgot to ask youy what you do for sciatic nerve pain??? I was sitting too long yesterday and I think that is what was causing my pain. that and sitting on a pew that was not comfortable.

Good morning! Karliann I totally understand the foot pain....My feet are hurting so bad today after a 6 hour shift at work yesterday. Last night was my first night back..it wasn't horrible but it was crazy busy. We served close to 500 students. There are a lot of changes to my station but most are good and going over well. I am off to work in 15 minutes..I planned to have pizza rolls for breakfast but I don't have the time now. I guess I will eat something at work so that I can take my meds. I have only been up for 17 minutes. having a hard time making myself go!

Good SUNNY Morning! Not many of these around here. Wasn't suppose to snow yesterday, but it did a bit.

Yesterday was good. Came home after dropping off Blaise at his Mom's, then started working on making & baking 4 carrot cakes for the freezer. Trying to get ahead of the game. Also made Cork's food for his lunches this week. After getting that all done, decided to sit down and watch an episode of the British Baking show...fell asleep. Becca picked up my Mom on her way down, and we picked up Blaise on our way. After dinner & cake, Cork took Blaise home, and us ladies played cards. Becca took Mom & me home afterwards. Had a very nice evening. My nephew who moved back here Saturday to start a new job tomorrow, came for dinner too. It was nice having him here, and he liked the idea that his didn't have a 2 hr drive to get home now...just 20 minutes.

Not sure what today will bring. I do have a doctor's appt later this morning for my quarterly check in. I know I'm going to get reprimanded for my weight & A1C level. Think I'll stop at the library afterwards. Blaise has karate this evening.

      Have a good one all!

      What is pickle ball?

It's a cross between Table Tennis and Tennis. It's basically played by active seniors and you play on like half a tennis court. The balls are whiffle balls and they use a paddle. It's exhausting but not too physical. Hope this answers your question Cookielady. I had never heard of PB until a few years ago.

A lot of women I know play pickleball here on the courts.
Donna, before I forget: I have a friend who has a similar situation in which her daughter posts the "Oh, my life" stuff and gets the same kind of attention and sympathy, but only from Her friends (aka same kind of people). The real adults and her mother's friends know what is going on and recognize the posts for what they are. Just wanting attention and someone to tell her she is justified in whatever is the poor me of the moment. At times I have looked at some of the commenters pages to see who her supporters are. Sorry to say they look exactly like her not much going on in their life, either. It is sad to think that some will go to the negative to get their attention fix when they canalso get attention with a positive post.

My son in MD sent pictures of their snow. And they got a lot! School was cancelled on Saturday for Monday! The boys and the dog had a ton of fun out in it yesterday and the boys took turns shoveling it. Spencer bought a second snow shovel so everyone could have a fster turn! We'll hope that entertainment doesn't wear out too fast.

The soup Becky made was so good. The house smelled so good when I got home around 7:00. She didn't know how much salt to put in it. The recipe said "to taste" so I put in about 1 tsp and some other spices when I tasted it and then it was perfect. She made rolls which turned out good for a first attempt at baking bread. I didn't say that to her!

We had sunshine all weekend. I haven't checked what our weather is supposed to be today. It may be foggy out.

Tonight we will watch last night's episode of Victoria. The day will be busy with kids and normal routine of daycare. I like a normal day!

Hope you all have your best Monday, too!
Maxie, I wonder if the snow will keep my son from being able to attend the hockey game?
Beth, enjoy your cooking day. It all sounds so good when you describe what you are making.
To all typing with me: thanks for sharing your day and I come back all day to read and check out what is going on.

Sciatic Nerve Pain is usually caused by an injury or a bad back. I have Degenerative Disk Disease, (diagnosed 2005) and that means the tissue that pads around and in between your disks is worn out. I lifted too many heavy things over the years and it took it's toll. Remember when I had the knee injury back last June? Well, after that episode is when the sciatic problems started big time. I have not been able to walk for years as far as taking a mile or 2 mile walk, and I cannot stand for more than a few minutes because there is no spinal support. I have to always use an upright lumbar support type chair or put a pillow behind my back to support it. DO NOT SIT FOR TOO LONG!!! That will certainly cause you more pain.

Here's the clicker: There is not really anything they can do for SNP except for a Rx of Neurontin, which is another name for Gabapentin. I have not ever taken either and don't want to. I hate drugs and all those side effects and I did research on the Neurontin after my neighbor was telling me that she took it when her SNP was bothering her years ago. I told her I don't want to take it and she said I was stubborn, but I just don't trust drugs and after I did the research I wouldn't ever consider it. It causes Cancer among a whole bunch of things. The best thing you can do is to start taking care of your back and do not sit for too long. Hope this helps.

      Good morning, everyone. ☕️

We had rain on and off yesterday; E said our gauge measured 1-1/4 inches. It was pretty dreary most of the day. It looks like chances of rain all week, but the chances are slim. But it should be a mostly cloudy week for sure. We will see how it plays out. We really could use more rain, though.

I am finding baking things I forgot I had. Fun stuff. Goodwill will love them. I won’t have the energy or space for them any more. I can’t easily reach the back of the cupboard for the last things in it. Who designed these bottom cupboards anyway? A man, no doubt. I need to borrow somwbody’s little kid to crawl in there and assist me. This is crazy.

Still have one one to go, but a man has my kitchen cart holding stuff behind it, and against that cupboard. No problem, I can move them, but he probably will be annoyed he still doesn’t have any other place to put them. *evil grin*
I hope to have my kitchen things sorted by the end of tomorrow.
I have two more rooms to do after that, and he doesn’t get to sort my stuff!

Otherwise...not much really new going on.
      have a great day! ☀️

JoGee don't you have the Gripper? They are awesome for reaching into difficult cabinets and places where things are stored. I do not have a Gripper, but I have one of those bamboo things with a long handle and it looks like a curled fork on the end. It works for me and it came from the Dollar Tree.

Here's the scoop. We got a 10:30 appt. with the foot specialist. They took xrays and DH has a big ole foot spur. Oh, it's horrible looking with a sharp hook on it. They gave him a copy of the xray. He can barely walk so I went to Publix to get his Rx of Meloxicam and he waited in the car. Thank goodness I didn't have to wait too long becuz my hip/leg/knee was starting to hurt. I am so thankful that I am able to drive again, especially now that this has happened. They put a boot on his foot and he needs surgery in a couple of months. He is supposed to wear the boot for 2 wks. Ii yi yi! You just never know! Again, I'm so thankful we found out today what is wrong and that I'm able to drive.

Well I got off here this morning & checked my email. There were 9 Discover card charges from Microsoft Store with 10+ responses from Discover. I'm getting them all credited off my account, BUT they are sending me a new credit card AND then I have the fun of contacting every utility & insurance company that automatically bills my DC monthly. Oh yea haw!!!

On a brighter note, I didn't get yelled at by my doctor. My A1C # was down almost 2 points and my BP was lower than usual even though it's typically good. I'm still not pleased with the weight gain of 8lbs. But now I'm motivated to do even better.

            good evening

            its almost bedtime
but wanted to check in,,,, DAvid had appt to have a EMG TEST made,, he has severe neuropthy in his feet.. which we knew , but the Dr explained that would definitely be a lot of his unsteadyness.... the Diabetes all these years have also made damage to those nerves... glad that test is done.. He fussed and fretted and complained all weekend about going to have this test done... so glad Mark went along, drove the car, help D. get on the table etc)

the rest of the weekend was me, learning Football, and now I am ready for next weekend's playoff games.
I still can't believe I am watching football....Its better when you aren't rooting for a specific ate team.
once we got home ... I hit a recliner, relaxed, snoozed, read , finished a book .etc

Karlin, Daughter Karen had to have one of those pointy bone spurs taken off back of her heel.. was in Boot cast , and took almost 8 weeks to heal .

            see you all in tomorrow.
