  • Greetings and Salutations

    Good morning from me and it is that for sure, I am back home and slept in my own bed...was released yesterday..The whole hospital thing has been a comedy act from the time I entered the doors...it all started when I checked in at the desk, no one put an arm band on me but it wasn't noticed until they needed to scan it, but before that, I was in the waiting area and I get a call on my cellphone telling me that I needed to reschedule my procedure because my INR was to low the morning before but someone had not called me to cancel that, I told her I was in the waiting area...they took me to a room and we waited for the Dr. to come and talk to me, well when all was said and done, I was checked in and INR was now at a good reading..after getting the IV started and going into procedure room I need a bracelet, they call downstairs they send one up, she puts it on me, calls me Shirley and I thought she was joking, she was not, LOL...so they call for another one, same thing happens, this time it is a Barbara, she calls back downstairs and told them to get it right!! So before the procedure happens I am who I am....after procedure take me to my room, get all the paperwork and when it is time to sign I notice my husbands last name is wrong, Doug Sampson is not my contact person, LOL...so they redo the paperwork...first night of sleeping in bed, it feels weird well next morning we see that the footing area is totally flat and not the same level as the bed...so they put a pillow under the sheets to level it out...and good thing I know what pills I take and when because each time they brought my meds I wanted to know which pill I was taking and they had some of my mornings meds in the evening and evening in the morning, I made them change it like I take them and a few at the times I take them...New and improved systems are not the best thing for sure..

    So I battered, burned and bruised but tolerating the meds just fine, heart is now beating at a good pace instead of at 110 resting and blood pressure also very good and I can now walk a distance without running out of steam, I was up and walking laps each day...and as always, not asking for help but taking care of myself...you for sure do not get rest in a hospital, those blood draws at 4:30 a.m. are ridiculous...they do that so they can prepare for the early appts. also waking you up in the wee hours of the morning to take your vitals...

    I am so sad that it is getting darker earlier and getting light out later, the darkness is coming...hoping to go meat shopping today, I want to buy some nice chuck roast to cube and can, and also other meats to pkg. and freeze..

    Good to be home...
    Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

    Good morning, Sharon, and everyone else.

    Well that sounds like a real escapade, Sharon. Maybe they just need to go back to the "human touch" like before. Computers don't run themselves, they need someone who knows what they are doing to push the right buttons.

    Got everything done that I was to do. And Dr. Pigeon didn't even *hit on me. He did refer me to a specialist Nuero man in Springfield. One who deals only in tremors.

    Got back in town, and had enough time to take a little rest before getting my perm. So I'm a "curly top" again. The main thing is I don't have hair sticking out from my neck that I can see in the mirror. Boy was I getting "shaggy". My hair dresser had a hip replacement, and I was actually surprised that she was back to work. Of course she is on limited hours that she can work a day.

    Today may be the day that I level the deck on my rider. Will just have to see how I feel later.

    Everyone have a good day.
    Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

      Morning! That was a comedy of errors. All this new is not better and getting names and meds wrong does not make you safe. Everything is so computerized and it is only as good as the person inputting the info. But did you check out the other Doug they were offering? Chance like that doesn;t always come around, you know? Glad you have your heart problem under control.

      Yes I have noticed it is getting darker earlier. I hate Fall and Winter coming...dark when you get up mornings and dark before 5:00, always cold, homework, cooking every darn night...
      I feel like everything moved so fast this summer like summer itself coming in so hot and late after a winter that would not end. Yesterday I picked my first tomato...August 16 and I picked my FIRST tomato. Guess I am getting old because I do not like change.

      Andrew came for his boots last night and they are to tight. So his mom and I spent a long time on the computer trying to find his size. Got them ordered so I now have a very expensive pair of dang boots to get returned. He will not have his new ones for his birthday party Saturday but they are coming and should be here for his actual birthday on Tuesday. At least the pair he wanted are all over just not every place had his size. I hate having to order stupid cowboy boots on line. I really am going to hate going through the hassle of returning the damn things! So much for free shipping since I am pretty sure there is no such thing as free returning.

      Well I do have things to do today. Laundry, there is no cheese for grilled cheese to honor my new tomato, kitchen rugs are washed so now the floor needs cleaning, figuring out how to return these boots, returning a new hoodie that is to small fro Drew. Think I will time the running around with a lunch stop. Fast food always puts a smile on my face! The more calories the better!

      Have a wonderful day.

          Good morning.
          Sharon, I think “comedy of errors” is the new hospital norm. They fix one error, and you face two more. I’m glad you had your wits about you, to keep things straight.

          I met my new PCP yesterday, and I like her! She paid attention. She didn’t mind that I drag E into my appointments ... he fills in the answers where I now have memory gaps. She also recognized that my shoes are from SAS. So are hers, but a different style. I must make another trip to the SAS store!
          I was given the New Patient sheets to fill in (3, both sides). I only did half of one page before I was called in. I told her my records are online there, so didn’t have to fill out the papers. We also talked about the new hospital problems due to the “technology” and the workers who have to work with it and don’t understand the basics. We also talked about my problems, my doctors, who takes care of what, how often I am seen by them, etc. She won’t have much to do, but it seems a requirement that we have a PCP. Turns out that for urgent problems, they have a walk-in clinic 5 days a week, from 8-10 a.m. we also get a card with the name of each doctor/nurse/technician we see after each visit.

          Today I go to PT AT MID-morning, and the dental clinic in late afternoon.

          Maxie, I hate shopping online. I like trying on clothing, because it’s hard to get a decent fit any more. I have some size L that are larger than the XL’s. I can return things, of course, but sometimes the bank comes back and says that the check was no good. I also noted that some checks have an obscure bank name, not company name, and I’m not sure which company sent it.

          Have a safe trip, Beth, and have fun.

          To all, have a super duper day.
          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
          Create a beautiful day wherever you go.
            I called the boot place this morning and they sent a return form and shipping label that all I had to do was print out. They are now in the mail...what took 3 days from order to delivery will now take 3 weeks for a refund on my credit card. Go figure! Now we will see if the new pair will fit better. Andrew has a very wide foot and I am not an expert on cowboy boots and didn't realize they ran narrower than a normal shoe. What is with this cowboy faze anyway?
