  • Happy 1st day of August

Good Morning, a dreary one here this morning, looks like it might rain which we need desperately. I have a busy day ahead, lab work, then pharmacy to discuss protocol for after colonoscopy, then to GFS to buy all I need for the family reunion, then come home and can my peaches. We did corn yesterday, 39 ears plenty for the two of us to last until next year. Finally getting some tomatoes but honestly not enough for canning, might just have to buy some, love making my own tomato juice.

Maxie I do pray they watch you closely with that cyst and soon I hope they find what is going on with your shoulder, should not take this long for results..amazing they told you as much as they did while you got the ultrasound test...

Bethina good news about getting a job..I know you want to work.

Well need to get dressed and be on my way out of town to the lab..nothing to eat or drink until afterwards and of course that just makes a person more hungry, LOL...

Have a great day one and all, can you believe it is August already...the older I get the faster it goes.
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

    Good morning.
It is amazing to see the week’s weather forecasts change overnight. Looks like more hot weather ahead (we are in the 100’s), and forget the rains.

Today I have my PT appointment and make future appointments, then we swing over to the hospital pharmacy and get my med refill.

I heard the 4 a.m. train last night. It’s several miles away, but sounds can magnify during the dead of night. So i have been tossing and turning since then til I got up. It will be a long day.

That IS good news about getting that job Beth. Something to look forward to every day.

Paula, I hope the fire is getting more contained. So much damage, so much personal loss, it is sad.

Sharon, you make me miss my garden. There is nothing like fresh picked foods.

Well, I need to pick out my clothes for today. Check out my grocery list.

Have a great day, whatever your plans are

    !

I grew up listening to trains at night and we live close to tracks here so can sometimes hear them. I think they are a soothing sound and rather nostalgic at night.

Good morning. I am trying to do bills. I usually get a few in the mail so they arrive by the first, but I have been a bit distracted.

i got up and made two batches of brownies. My cousin works on a power crew that just got sent up to our fire after being down working at the one near Yosemite. His dad is taking them to him and his crew. The daycare guys are going to need some too since they are walking into a yummy smelling house.

which is much better than what it might have been: a friend asked me if I wanted to do laundry for the shelter with the displaced pets. I said of course, then she texted me she would have her boyfriend use his truck because the smell was so bad the night before when she brought home laundry she had to leave her trunk open all night. As it tu never out there were enough other s who volunteered imwill be taking back clean laundry...sometimes you step back and let someone else do the good deed and get that great feeling that comes with it. For me, getting thevtwo calls to actually DO something was a wonderful turn around for my emotions.

I am typing blind on my ipad. As soon as Becky gets back I am getting a new one. This one is from 2012. And it is just slowing down and the keyboard is killing me.

Good morning! It is finally a sunny day and going to warm up...highs around here have been in the 60s and 70s for a few days. Way to cold for summer and school starting in a couple of weeks. I did pick up some shirts for Andrew but need jeans sizes and see if he needs new shoes. Need to talk with his mother. Wish he would shop with me because I loved school shopping with the kids and now I don;t have any babies anymore. Kinda sad.

Yesterday I never left the house so today I need to pick up some groceries. No, I'm not going to cook but someone may! Need to be prepared. Laundry is all caught up but I could iron, run the vac, wash some rugs. Probably won;t though. I can already tell I am not in the mood today. May call my sister and set up a shopping trip.

Scott called last night and he had an offer on his house...a real low offer but cash so no financing. He called later and decided to pass. He is in no hurry to do rush rush get out in a month when he has no place to go just because someone made a low ball cash offer. I thought he would be in a worse mood than he was but sounded logical about it. We laughed over the guy probably wanted all the brand new appliances for free too and the lawn mower thrown in. I'm glad he is able to laugh because I know he wants to sell and move quickly.

Beth, congrats on the new job. There should always be action in dietary! Sharon, always a doctor to see and a finger/arm to be stuck, x-ray to be had, right? I am livid with the GP for not having the results of the MRI but sure it is his office staff. Or maybe nothing is wrong and he lost interest? I can call but it just makes me mad. You know I called the bank yesterday about an outstanding check and they went out of their way to help me and my own doctor cannot call with a result. The doctor I loved left so I just stayed with the practice and his partner. Normally he is not any trouble because he just wants to send you to a specialist and not mess with you. Since I do not like messing with him it has been a pretty mutual relationship of avoidance. But we may have to have a discussion.....

Need to shower and head out. It will be nice to have some heat back. Sharon, I also have corn frozen and we need a couple dozen more. I love the seal a meal thingy! The only problem I had was sealing meatballs. Have learned to freeze them on a tray before sealing....we have a couple dozen flat balls!! My son says it was a common sense thing but who thinks about that?

Good morning and hello to anyone who checked in while I was typing. Have a wonderful August 1!!

I have five or six big bags of laundry sitting out front by my car and two friends dropped off cookies. And since the large temperary shelter is very close to Panda Express I am driving through for dinner.
I have all cookies bagged up and ready and boxed my brownies and wrote a quick card.

homemade tomato jnice sounds wonderful, Sharon!

You are so kind and generous Paula. Why doesn't your animal shelter have their own washer dryer?
