Just called Elaine because she hasn't been here for a while & I was worried that something had happened to John.
Well John just got out of the hospital Saturday from a one week stay. He had a chemo treatment several weeks ago and it weakened his immune system even more than it already was, and he got an IUT which then turned septic and that infection landed in his foot & leg. The hospitalist (the hospital's doctor) and his CA doctor disagreed on the dx. The CA doctor says sepsis and the hosp doc says gout. So now John is back to having home health care. He's trying to get into his CA doctor because the meds they sent him home with for his gout is doing a real number on him, so they stopped the meds themselves. His foot/leg is extremely swollen.
Prayers would be very much appreciated for both of them. Elaine said caring for John, taking care of herself, and the house are all she can handle right now. She'll be back when life settles back down.
