    Good Morning!

How is everyone this fine day?

This has been a chaotic week. But everything seems to have settled down

The heat here is extreme, and we have not seen rain in months. Cattlemen are feeding hay, since there is no grass.

I am off to therapy again this morning. Hope everyone has a very good day.

    Hi Elaine,
    Good morning, everyone!

Well, we again have a "real" PCP, and don't need to deal with young residents now. We like this doctor very much.
We got there early, anticipating filling out paperwork. None to fill out, they've learned to use their computers, and only needed to ask "Any changes?". Nope. We got our "annual checkup" for Medicare....crazy tests, funny questions, but all with a good purpose for Medicare.
Our appointments were back to back, but they slipped someone in between our appointments.
This doc apparently was a Professor of Medicine somewhere, but wanted to try being a PCP. E said he was starting to get bored there, til we came in. I have a medical history "up the wazoo", but he is going to study that "wazoo". He loves learning new stuff, and I'm a puzzle he wants to understand. He went back in my medical history, plus there's new stuff in my current history. He never heard of the immunization(s) needed after splenectomies, so was looking that up for E....I got mine in oncology this week. A meningal-cockle injection for impaired immune systems, and one other one I forget. E does "medical-speak" very well so his appointment was a longer discussion. We were there from 12:30-4p! You KNOW the doctor likes learning more things for his job. He's a middle-age guy.
Anyway, we are very happy with him, and he's one of the few doc's with a good sense of humor!

Hot day ahead! 82° now, but reaching for 105°, still a 20% chance of rain. Ha! 🌵 Like yesterday, it'll just be a bit cloudy, I'll bet.

We were too tired to go to the grocery store yesterday. I want more fruits & veggies! But that's our only plan for today.

Have a great day, my friends!
    🤗

Good Morning to all...trying to get ready to hit the road...my "last minute" hubby is rushing around like crazy, when will he ever learn to do a few things each and every day to get ready, would save a whole lot of time and aggravation for him..That is what I do, a little each day to get ready, and even though he took my day away today, I still was ready...I have showered, shaved, blown my hair dry and gotten dressed in 25 mins...bag is packed in motorhome, all other 'stuff' in motorhome...he decides to clean the big window on motorhome and other things...why or why did you wait until today? I refuse to be drug into it, I am sitting here on the computer passing the time...the bed is made, litter boxes cleaned, money for the cat/house keepers is on the counter, I'm ready.

Going to be a really hot weekend, sure hope I survive the heat, making sure to take my hats and sunscreen, don't want that sun poisoning again...Interesting topic on my Facebook page yesterday about the usage of the F word...I don't use it and really prefer those around me not use it, but I am not the language police by any means...My sons girlfriend uses it and it really gets under my skin, but it is her everyday language I guess, I just wish she respected me enough to not use it around me...my son doesn't, but I am afraid if I do say something I would not see them for a long time...

Well enough of that, time to go set the DVR for the races so we can watch them when we get home..Have a great weekend one and all...see you on Monday.

Maye, did you know there's a magazine out for arthritis? "Arthritis Magazine".
I got a mail offer for it, and it contained a page full of foods to eat and simple exercises to prevent the pains, or lessen them. I sent it off to my brother's SO. Eat cherries, switch from white to sweet potatoes, eat walnuts, apricots, etc. I wish I picked up the free copy at my doctor's office yesterday. It might be helpful to you, if you find that mag.

Sharon, I'm afraid the "F" word is part of today's generation. I hear it all the time. I'm not the language police, either, though.
I did use it for "shock value" in a joke. E had to tell all our friends and family and his former co-worker friends about it. I was not happy with him. He's been trying to get me to tell the joke again, but I refuse....I am someone who isn't comfortable with it and refuse to do that again. He finally gave up and accepted it. I can find other words to express myself. The "F" word has come to mean many things these days, but it's only a word that society hasn't completely accepted. When our generation is gone, it will be more acceptable.....or it may wane away. I'll just ignore it and allow it to wane away if it will. I'm considering giving Thesaurus books as family gifts to some people I know. 🙄

              Morning all

              It's my day off. YAY!

Inherited some patio chairs from one of the condo owners who bought new furniture for his porch. They are in excellent shape but just needed the mold removed. Chris and I sprayed them down with Tilex last night - this morning I scrubbed them with a magic eraser and they look like new. I also washed the cushions in the commercial washer at work yesterday and they look great too. They are hanging over the rails of the patio drying.

I've also already mowed the yard and it looks great for another week.

Think I'll put something in the oven to bake and hit the shower next.

              Y'all have a good 'un!

We are suppose to be under a heat warning continuing into the entire weekend and, lo and behold, more darn rain is falling. How can you have temps near 100 all week and still drown? I am heading out tomorrow for a week long pool party and do not want any rain. I mean, the sky is dark and it raining pretty hard....again! You know this will just amke for another miserable humid day. I am wet just walking out to the patio around here!! Oh well, we leave tomorrow morning. Jon will come home Sunday night but Sierra and I will stay. Andrew is on a float trip and camping out with his other side. I hate that he will miss this but it is his first float trip and dates just got mixed this year...his mother is really good at scheduling but this week just worked out to be THE week for both sides! I have an afternoon full of lunches and pedis and last minute shopping and I would like to cancel everything....but the pedi, need those pretty toes. An Aunt called and is feeling lonely so I will drop everything to have lunch with her. She is my mom's second sister and the one she counted on all those years she did not drive. No a day can you imagine a mother who does not drive? Anyway, I will do my part and what doesn't get done won't get done. Sierra has been begging for spaghetti and meatballs so they are in the crockpot. While I was in KC some how the spices were refiled. Jon is a spice buyer and we have a ton of them and I kept the ones I uses regularly in their own place and I keep the baking spices separate and now they are all jumbled together and it took me forever to find the Italian seasoning and when I went to the freezer I cannot find my asiago and I know there are several bags still frozen. I can only get it at the grocery at home and that is where lunch is today so I can pick that up....I do not know what is wrong with these people but who can eat spaghetti without Asiago...bad enough the sauce won't have any in it. But now I have to shower and get moving. Woke with a headache but hope it is just because of the rain. Wish I could ship this rain to Texas and I could be sure of a dry and hot week. Won't be around for several days and even if we apartment hunt with niece I have to be home by August 2 for Jon's surgery. I'm off....hope you all have a wonderful weekend and next week..

Good Morning! A few rain drops have fallen & it looks like more is suppose to be following soon. Unfortunately with sever thunderstorms.

Yesterday was good. I baked off the cookie doughs and packed up the ones I made the previous days. I'm now ready for the customer to pick up her pink cookies. Kathy was here for the afternoon, so I ran to Saxonburg by myself. Had a nice chat with Kathy's bf Jimmy. I finally told him that he needs to man-up and apologize to Corky for his previous behavior and see if that helps the situation around here. Jimmy respects me even though I had him arrested & put in jail 5 years ago. He loves the lack of drama in our household and the good food...neither of which he has at his house.

This morning I want to finish icing the sugar cookies. Blaise wants to go to the library this afternoon. There is a VBS picnic at 6pm that he & I will be going to.

                  Have a good one all!

It is still a quiet cool morning here, but that will change in awhile.
Flooring is to start after one of the guys gets back from a funeral. The swim teacher has to come early today and I have been getting the bookcase in my room cleared out. I found a lot of folders I could trash and will not put all the books back in, either. It is a tall bookshelf and will get painted the same white as the windowsill and bedside table.
No cooking plans other than use all leftovers so I can clean out the kitchen and daycare refrigerators.
Monday I have a notary coming to sign my closing papers on the refinance I did for the house. HARP. I have done three big things this year starting with the central heat and air replacement, then the car and finally, the refi on the house. I am done with any big changes. Hopefully.
Donna, that Jimmy talks with you, respects you, many seeks your advice is a huge Plus for him in my eyes. Shows maturity that he can accept what you did 5 years ago and grow from it. At least, I hope that is what has happened.
I feel so much better, Jo, since I have been eating better food choices. And I can recognize " not better" food choices almost as soon as they hit my stomach!
I better go. Hope you all have a great day! Fingers crossed mine goes well.

Good Morning, supposed to be hot here again today. Yesterday it clouded up and rained, thunderstorms and all, but even with the rain cooling it off some as soon as the sun came back out the temps jumped back up fast. Lady at the lung Dr. (she and her hubby were leaving as we were going in) said something about we would all just be lost without A/C. Told her I wouldn't, Kenny has it in the bedroom but the central air hasn't worked here for years (before I came) and I much prefer to have the windows open and fans going. Told her that when the world goes to crap, I won't have to worry about being addicted to AC and so won't miss it. She laughed and said "good thinking on your part" You have to wonder about how people managed without AC years ago, before everyone had it. I grew up without it so really I have no problem, well at least less problem with the heat. My Grandpa used to wear long sleeves and a suit coat all year long, He said that God made your body to sweat and then when you do the least breeze, even a warm one, causes it to evaporate and cools you off. Waiting for Kenny to tell me to hold off a couple of weeks before I leave. Dr wants him to have a scope and to do biopsies on the lymph nodes that are showing problems on his scan, so now he is trying to figure out who he will have around here to be there to be his driver when he has it done. I told Maryanne to be prepared because he may ask her.

Jostoy, I did answer your question on yesterdays post, The reason I am wanting to stay around for a bit is to make sure that I get my meds filled to last me a bit before I leave. Once I leave IN it will end my health insurance, and don't know that I can get any in IL. Will be to far to travel back and forth to try to keep Dr.s here when I go to my sisters. Pray my SSI gets approved before I have to leave IN, If it does, I will be able to rent the U-haul and then IL will give me medicaid or I will be able to get some if I have to pay for it.

I knew there had to be good reason for you to put up with Kenny's "crap". Medication is a necessary to keep your health, once you need help to stay alive and comfortable.

Yes, I feel like I'm taking a handful of pills in the morning, and now he has increased the ones I take at night. 2 different kinds of insulin so making sure that I have a good supply of everything is vital. Some I can probably get help with through the companies that put them out, but that requires having a Dr to fill out the paper work, and I know that with no insurance won't have the money to see them as often as they are going to want me to. I've been there before and since I'm fighting for SSI need to try to keep everything current for them. They use the not keeping up with healthcare as a reason to deny, they don't get that you can't keep up with it if you have zero income. never ending circle.

                      Good morning all.

Off to T.H. to get some Milky Spore. Since we have prediction of rain for a few days, now is the time to put it down.

                      Everyone have a good day.

Darla, you need to talk to your pharmacist about how to get help and from whom, to get your meds at a lower price, as you have no income. Some companies and some stores have such assistance programs.

OH WOW!!! JoGee posted something to me on my Facebook pagetoday, and I told her I still couldn't get into the forum. But, I decided to try once again and voila, here I am... As recently as last week I couldn't get in because of a gazillion pop-ups that locked up my computer. Wonder what changed? Don't know, but apparently it's for the better.

Lots of things going on in my life right now. Expecting my second great-grandchild the end of September. It's a BOY this time! Haven't been crocheting anything for him because my granddaughter didn't use ANY of the outfits I made for Laci... no sense wasting my time, right?

Planning to move back to Utah... Central Utah this time, probably the Ephraim area to be exact. Just getting tired of Las Vegas. It's way too hot here for humans, plus the casinos and Ralph aren't a real good mix, if you know what I mean. We've been up to Utah 3 times since the first of the month (4½ hours each way), and are going back Thursday to look at more houses. We put an offer on one last time, but it turned really weird with the offers and counter-offers, so we just walked away. Hopefully we'll be successful this time.

Hope everyone had a great day... will try to remember to check in tomorrow

Judy, guess by this time you and Ralph are retired. Geez, in my opinion, you are going from 1 extreme to another...hot to cold. Don't think my body could ever get use to the cold in Utah.
