Morning all Happy 15th birthday to my baby girl today.

Not much new happening here - we are now getting the remnants of Hurricane Patricia. Very gusty and has been raining since yesterday morning. Supposed to move on by late tonight or early tomorrow morning. We needed the rain, so YAY!

    Y'all have a good 'un!

The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.

    Beautiful young lady, Pat.

Have to get a pulmonary function test at 10 AM. Son will take me as I am not up to walking far and our local hospital is strung out all over the place. Sure didn't make it for anyone that isn't extremely fit. Then Fri. have to go see my regular Dr. Then if all keeps going well I won't have to see anyone until Dec. 4 when I have an appointment with a new Dr. He is both lung and heart and comes to the clinic from out of town.

Lincare (oxygen provider) nurse called again. They will take over the meds for the nebulizer. It will go through medicare and my insurance company and won't even have a co-pay. I didn't know Lincare does a lot of the things they do. They have sure helped me a lot with the breathing this last couple of weeks.

Looks like fall is here to stay this time. 51º at the moment.

Better scat as it isn't long until the work day starts.

Good morning I have a full day a head of me...I volunteer this morning 8:30-12-30. Then my sis will pick me up from there and drop me at the bus stop..I will take public transportation to the doctor's office..I am a little nervous since I don't know much about how to use the bus here or when to get off which one to change too..I am hoping and praying that bus drivers will be helpful...more helpful than the lady on the phone was. I am hoping to eventually be able to figure out what bus stop is close to my volunteer site so that I won't be so dependant on my sister...after I get done at the doctor I will walk to walmart..I need a few things from walmart...my sister will pick me up from walmart or the doctor depends on where I am when I call her to pick me up...I can't take the bus home because it doesn't run past 3 to the bus stop close to my house.

My parents are camping pretty close by and my sister and I may go out there this evening if its not raining...

Good Morning world, let's get this day started..I'm up, bed is made, had my one cup of coffee to start the day, now onto shower and getting dressed. I have a few small loads of clothes to wash, and a quick dusting and floor sweeping, trying to keep ahead of the situation,
.My cousins wife, also my friend, came over to work on my dishwasher again, she is retired from Whirlpool and since she still has connections there she is working on a warranty issue with it, at no charge to me, thankfully. But I just feel bad that she keeps doing this, but she wants to...plus we get to talk and visit while she is here..she is a sweetie..

Also worked more on my quilt yesterday, coming along pretty good. Hubby is till pretty busy at work, no dinner for him tonight as he will be having a business dinner at the country club with more out of town guest and other employees..such a busy time for all of them, and they are expanding so much, lots of construction going on. I do want to find time to make a trip to GA while I am feeling pretty good, need to feel those little grandgirl arms around me..

Justy, sure hope they can get you to feeling better, when you first get to the hospital have them get you a wheelchair and escort you where you need to go..

Pat, can't believe how much Erin has changed and grown, still remember the picture of you sitting in a chair with your curly hair holding that babe in your arms..Happy Birthday to Erin.
Bethina, maybe you could get someone to ride the route with you to help you get it right and have it written down until you are more familiar with it.

With the hurricane coming sure Texas, Florida and other areas are going to get lots of rain and wind, we are even supposed to feel the effects here.

Well time to get a move on, still need to read the news and check out a few other sites..Have a wonderful day one and all..and to those typing while I am, good morning to all of you also...I got lots of reasons to smile and be happy, do you?

My middle son will go with me to hospital. He parks car at door, gets wheel chair and brings to car. He wheels me to where I need to go. I would never be able to make it otherwise. Thanks for thinking of me, Boffler.

              Good Morning

Had another grand sleep-in.. until almost 7.30...thats 8 hrs sleep.!...should help the energy level.

Called my pcp office yesterday... Ithey could call me with the "bad " news that my potassium was low two weeks ago. but did not call when I got it re done a week later ( after eating potassium loaded foods).. so I called them... and ,hooray.. it is back to normal... I figured it was just a matter of not eating the right foods.. I am to continue to make sure i do eat/drink stuff with potassium in?. like a banana, or yogurt. etc.

Erin, 15!.. time flies!... and now the really good times begin .. Pat, a word of advice, which you do not need. but... here it is ..At this age When Erin starts to talk about anything at all.... Listen , just listen, never be too busy to listen.. no matter what she is chatting about. you don't need to comment, just Listen.. smile a lot . and nod your head.. and Listen.. was there, tried to do that.. and now do same with grandgirls.

Bethina,, You are a very wise gal... learning to get around on your own is scary... but necessary.. I think you are doing great!
Sharon. I'm setting here, and should be doing that morning routine too.. this is "shopping" day .. David is already dressed to leave. and Im in night clothes.. Sure hope you can get the GA trip squeezed in.

HI Elaine..Barb. Nalani, Darla? where are you?. all three of our Jo s... and a whole lot more of you Rounders.
Justy ..good advice from Boffler,, get a wheelchair at door and ask for a volunteer.. most hospitals have them. glad ot hear the oxygen problem is getting solved

this evening is Granddau. Bethany and I's cooking time...looking forward to it.

DWTSs. kind of a surprise that Hayes went off. wasn't crazy about all the Halloween stuff.

              see you all later.

Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

Good Morning, not much new in my world. Went "white woman crazy" on the neighbor kids, think I made a point with them and their momma. Told them they are on camera, they don't need to know it isn't going 24/7 but momma must think it is, the other morning Kenny had it on and she went to her car, turned around toward the house waved and yelled "good morning". Fred was throwing a fit the other day, Kenny checked the camera and the kids had a long pole and were poking at him through the gate, he yelled and they dropped it and ran. Little while later he is throwing a fit again, so I stepped out the front door and caught them, and kind of went off. told them that if they did it again I would call the police and since they are on camera the police didn't need to see them because I had the proof. When I started yelling at them they dropped the pole (which I picked up and put in the backyard). Next day Fred was throwing a fit, checked the camera and couldn't see the kids, but could hear them. Stepped out on the back porch and the neighbor on the other side of them was out, she yelled and told me "the dogs are barking because the kids are out" told her that they had been harassing the dogs, poking sticks at them and such. She got to looking in her yard, found a long stick and some bigger rocks, made them come into her yard (she had to unlock her gate) and pick them up. Later she caught an adult out and must have said something to them. Anyhow haven't seen the kids out since. Neighbor is on the city council and works for the court system and has some high placed friends so not unusual to see city cars and police cars at her house. Really hope they the renters decide that it is to much of a problem to stay there and move fast.

Beth, ask the people at your placement place about a list of the bus routes along with a city map. Some city's have maps with all of the bus routes marked in different colors, they show all the bus stops with which buses stop at them so you can study them and figure out the transfers you need to make. I know when a friend who didn't drive moved to a new city, did that.

                  Good morning, everyone.
Woke at 6 this morning. It's 56° right now, and reaching for 85° today. But will start dropping tomorrow, unless the weather guys change that overnight, too. Out chance of rain Friday has split to a 20% chance of it on Thursday and Friday. So the rain factor looks like a toss-up.

Happy Birthday to Erin, Pat. My goodness, she has grown up so much!

Beth, you should have no problem getting info from your bus driver(s). It's part of their job. He might have time schedules and route maps he can give you.

Justy, hope your doctors will give you the relief you need.
Sharon, you really are sounding chipper these days! I like it.. 😀
Hey, Maye. Lucky you to be cooking with granddau's.

Hi, also, to those of you who haven't yet posted.
I hope you all have a wonderful day! ☀️

Good morning, all. Cool again this morning warm afternoon expected. Lovely weather.

Yesterday, my niece, Carla, took me shopping. I love her to pieces but having a chat with her is listening to her monologue. Hard to get a word in edgewise and it distracts me from what I'm doing. I did manage to get everything on my lists, though.
Her DH is guite a bit older than she and his health isn't very good; she has no children so I think she's running out of people to talk to. All her her close family has moved away except one of her nieces who is busy with three little kids.
She is the fifth child of my late sister. There were 4 girl babies born in a little over a year. Boots had Carla, I had Rebecca, Ada had Rita, and then Boots had Lesa. The girls used to be very close but growing up but now Rebecca and Rita are close but others have drifted away. (Why does stupid spell check tell me I have Rebecca spelled wrong?)

Still have to freeze some of the meats I got yesterday and breakfast is calling so will wish every one a happy day.

Bethina, one more piece of advice: ask people at the desk at your volunteer place where the nearest bus stop is. But the driver will be your best source for the stops you need.
All 5 kids are here and happy! Good start to the day.
I have vegetables sautéed for spaghetti sauce and sloppy joe sauce. And salmon already cooked for my lunch.
Lincare was the oxygen supplier we used, too. And when we visited our son in WA our office set it up for O2 with the WA office and we didn't have to take our huge machine. They also brought enough canisters for the drive. Just in case you need it.
Pat, I hope Erin has a wonderful day! And Happy Birth Day to you, too!
Barb, nice of you to listen to Carla. I have a tendency to really get chatty after being with daycare all day. For the wedding vacation I kept a reminder note: shut up and listen! I didnt quite fulfill it like I wanted, but it helped reign me in!
I hadn't been with both my brothers for 8 years and much, much longer for the Florida nieces.
Hope all the doctor appointments go well without much waiting in the waiting room!
Have a great day! Looking forward to more information on your day and new adventures, Beth.

                          Aloha all!

A very Happy Birthday to Erin! I remember when she was born. Has 15 years flown by so quickly. Hope she and you too, Pat, have a wonderful Birthday day!

Boffler, you said something strange in your check in. You said your husband's wife was coming over to fix your dishwasher. Your husband's wife? Or do you mean your husbands friend's wife? Or does your husband have two wives of which you are one of them. Just asking.

Not sure what today will bring but it always brings something.

                          Have a good day all!

Did the PFT this morning. Was a little hard as I had to skip a breathing treatment to take the test. From what he told me I haven't gotten any worse in 2 years time. Lincare nurse called and she will have one of the guys drop off my new meds tomorrow. Good as that saves a trip to the pharmacy. Also this is a combination of the 2 meds I take now but will just take 15 minutes to use instead of half an hour. Things are looking up! See regular Dr. Friday and hopefully I am done until I see the specialist the first part of Dec.

Lincare nurse informed me that the meds for breathing will be billed to Medicare under the 80/20 part. What Medicare doesn't pay my pipefitters insurance will pick up. Therefore I won't even have co-pay like other meds. Also they will be on top of when I need them and keep me supplied. I didn't know they had all these services to offer. Beginning to appreciate them more and more as time goes by.
