    It is allegedly snowing and / or sleeting here. I hope it isn't doing either one because I have a doctor's appointment this morning and I do NOT want to have to freeze my butt off. I got several weather warnings that it will be 0 to 5 degrees this morning (wind chill factor) and there is a lake wind advisory that means it will be a worse cold because there will be strong winds. YUCK!!!

    Yesterday was pretty good. I had lunch with a friend and had a good time. I hope we do lunch again soon.

    A priest friend of mine had a birthday yesterday. He was 84 or 85. I had the Mass celebrated for him and that was neat. He is a great guy and still celebrates a few Masses at our parish. I wish he had been able to be he celebrant yesterday, but he wasn't.

    I don't have much to say because not much happens when ou spend most of the time watching Blue Blood so on Netflix. I LOVE that show! It is terrific. I am so glad one of my friends told me about it. I am soooo addicted to it.

    I hope that everyone has a great day! I hope that Mayebarnes is on the mend and will get to go where she wanted to go today. Stay warm and healthy everyone!

    Morning Punkin and all who follow. It's only 38º here and I'm going to break out my polar fleece jacket today for the Farmer's Market. I know it will be a cold start, but with it climbing to 52º this afternoon I can take it. Hope there is a great crowd of people to buy my purses, tote bags, Monster Tissue Holders, and bookmarks. They all turned out so well that I am amazed I still have it in me to embroider, etc. I guess it's like riding a bike eh!

    Did I say I DO NOT like winter, but I understand it has to be a season. I've got to cyber surf for a job now. BBL.

      Good Morning, Everyone.

      Hi Val! Hi karlinann!

      Well, some exciting news finally! We were eating lunch at 12p, when the power went out. We waited for phone calls from neighbors. Nobody called. So I called the power company. The recording always asks, "Do you know the source of the problem?" I pressed NO. Well, we saw the truck turn into the driveway about 30 minutes later, and so John opened the garage door, and there in the driveway lay 2 power poles, a transformer, and a web of wires. Seems one pole had broken off at the ground, pulling the second one down. I dread to think if all that had come down on us if we had been outside.

      Anyway, they called for a pole crew, and had the whole thing back in order within 3 hours. They even swept the driveway of debris. Guess I won't complain about the cost of our power anymore.

      Well, it's 12 here this morning. We've called off our monthly Bunco game. Nobody wants to leave home.

      Feels like a soup day. Guess I'll scour the pantry for some ingredients.

      Have a good day, Everyone.

          Good morning all!

          Not so cold here. In the 40's and I think it's sprinkling out. I do have to go out later this morning to pick up my new hearing aids. These fit in my ears and not behind my ears. Hope I like them.

          Went to the casino yesterday with our group. They have a wonderful buffet there and that's what most of us head for as soon as we get off the bus. Then we play bingo and after that we have a little more then an hour before our bus comes back home. So I played the slots. Lost at first then won most of it back so that's when I decided to call it quits. A fun day.

          My goodness, Elaine, a good thing you weren't under those poles when they fell and I suppose there was a live wire there too. Glad you got it fixed so quickly.

          Hope you do well today at the Farmer's market, Karlinann.

          Glad you are feeling better, Beth.

          ~~~~~~~~~~~to all and to all have a good day.
            Good Morning! It's sunny BUT extremely cold here...schools are canceled everywhere.
            Yesterday was good. Took Blaise to school & then headed to town to grocery shop. Was surprised I got through both grocery stores AND two other stops before it was time to pick up Blaise from school. Hit jack pot at both stores with their reduced produce. My refrig is full again with lots of veggies. Once all groceries were put away & chicken was on to roast, Becca & I started a new puzzle. Made deep dish chicken for dinner (one of Becca's favorites) and invited Kathy over...a nice family dinner together. Spent the evening watching TV. Val...we've been watching the series Army Wives on Netflix...great series! I've been watching Blue Bloods since the beginning.
            Not sure what today will bring. Kathy wants Blaise. We'll see. She also promised Becca some time...we'll see. Cleaning & paperwork are on my agenda...btw building the puzzle!
            Have a good one all!
              Good Morning, nothing here but cold. Went to Aldi's yesterday and the cold and predicted snow storms had the shelves bare of things I wanted to pick up. There wasn't one big can of coffee, no hamburger meat, no buns or white bread.
              Elaine hard to believe that with 2 poles and the transformer down that neighbors still had power. When the transformer down the alley blew out we were without power for 2 days, they kept replacing it and it would blow again so they had to keep going to get a new one.
                Brrrrr! It's 23° here with a wind chill of 9! WOW - I thought I was in Florida?!?
                Yesterday was a pretty crappy day - had the office all to myself all morning as the reservationist called in sick (for the first time EVER!). The phone rang constantly and people were in and out all morning. THEN, around 10am EMS called and said one of our guests had called 911 and they didn't know which unit he was in. I had to scramble around like a chicken with its head cut off to figure out where this man was located, open the gate for the EMS crew, find a key to the unit, and direct them to where he was. Afterward, they wouldn't tell us anything, due to HIPAA laws - we only know they transported him to a local hospital. He isn't married and is all alone here, so we are sorta in the dark on his condition STILL!
                By the time I got home yesterday, I had such a bad headache all I wanted to do was sleep. BUT, I managed to cook supper before I got my PJ's on and crashed. Thank God Erin is old enough to take care of herself!
                TODAY WILL BE BETTER!
                So I'm off to shut my office door, turn off my office phone, and get busy running monthly statements. Y'all have a good 'un and KEEP WARM!
                The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.
                  Good ending to that excitement, Elaine!
                  I jdidn't feel like going to the store after daycare yesterday so that will be my main focus when the day is done today. I am thawing chicken for the chicken cordon bleu casserole. I need more and also some ham and Swiss cheese.
                  We watch Blue Bloods and got hooked on Parenthood last summer, so I am watching the series on Netflix. I am in season 3. Netflix and hulu both have been a great source for me.
                  Stay warm, you guys. The news really shows how bad it is all over.
                    Good morning.
                    I just got up - 8a - waking to a gray overcast day and the tune of the winds blowing in the eaves and trees at close to 20 mph. and 50° out. It'll only get to 62° today, and there's a 50% chance of rain.
                    Not much going on here...you all have had busy interesting days. Me...I walked down to the mail box yesterday - the last couple of days the mail hasn't been worth the trip. Did a little laundry. Made our meals. Fed the 1/2 cat. That's about it, which has had a good appetite lately even though the owners are back. I think another neighbor has fed it, too, but must have quit. I can't handle the cat because I'm allergic, but it's also very good about not trying to slip into the house. Since I know it won't be litter trained, I won't be tempted to bring it inside. Even so, the stinker ran halfway down the block to meet me coming back with the mail, making sure to get underfoot, weaving through my every step on the way back.
                    OK, it's raining now. I can hear the thumping of the raindrops on paint buckets in the yard.
                    I guess I'll go contemplate breakfast and a hot drink.
                    Hope you enjoy today.
                      I have Blue Bloods on this morning watching a marathon. Funny how we all seem to have the same taste in tv. School cancelled again this morning for the cold...I have no idea what the actual low was last night because I stayed snuggled in my warm bed this morning. My heating bill is going to be a YIKES this month. Jon picked up his new car yesterday and stayed here until time to leave for work so I cancelled my hair. Today is the day! This haircut has been cancelled so many times it is getting to be a joke. Lots of leftovers to eat and may pickup the mail while out this afternoon. I am tired of the cold and sick of winter...burr Pat...guess I won't be flying to Florida to beat the cold!
                          We are not used to this kind of weather arround here.
                              We had to turn up the heat a bit today. Rain, wind, & just 50° here today. But lately I'm nearly always cold. Don't know if it's because the doc messed with my meds, or if I'm just getting older. E bougt mr a plush warm blanket, which currently is my best friend!!!
                              Crazy weather.
                              Stay warm, people.
